Bourne High school’s open enrollment and “AP for all” philosophy help make advanced placement coursework accessible to all students, with AP options beginning as early as grade 9.   In addition, Bourne High School has enrolled all students in Pre-AP Algebra I,  English I, English II, Biology, and US History to ensure equity and access to high-quality grade-level work.

This year, we are rolling out our new Innovation Pathways Program in Business and Marketing and Environmental and Life Science. Innovation Pathways are designed to provide students with coursework and internship experiences within a specific high-demand industry.   These pathways establish strong partnerships with employers and expose students to career options to help them develop the knowledge and skills related to their chosen field of study before they graduate high school.

Our Program of Studies offers students a myriad of elective opportunities to explore in the fine arts. The music department offers electives in band, chorus, music theory, guitar, and piano, and the fine arts department offers ceramics, graphics, advanced art, and even AP Studio Art - Bourne High School is home to an Award-Winning Drama Club, whose success has been recognized and celebrated throughout the State.  This program, which is a 15-time Massachusetts Educational theater Guild State semi-finalist and 6-time state finalist, offers something for everyone - from acting to costume and set design, to lighting and sound!  Our fine arts programming offers a variety of entry points for every type of musician and artist -  from the beginner to the advanced.

So, what does it mean to be a Canalman, you may ask?  Whether you’re a student-athlete on the ice, on the field, or on the court - or a "super fan" cheering from the sidelines, our purple pride and strong school spirit help to unite us as one school community.  In fact, Bourne High School is proud to be recognized as a Unified Champion School which intentionally promotes meaningful social inclusion by bringing together students with and without intellectual disabilities to create an accepting school environment for all.
