A Message from Dr. Lisa Maguire, BHS Principal
Welcome to Bourne High School!

At BHS, we are building community by welcoming every student and staff member to participate in and contribute to our school. Every member of our community has a commitment to building the kind of culture and climate we want to experience here. Students develop strong relationships with various stakeholders in the BHS community inside the classroom through diverse course offerings and outside the classroom in athletics and unified sports; drama, art and music programs; robotics; student council; and other leadership opportunities. Class of 2027, welcome to BHS and to the Canalmen family! As you start your high school experience, know that there are peers and staff here to support and encourage you along the way.
The BHS community is committed to supporting students’ social, emotional, and personal development. We are promoting equity by following the Multi-Tiered System of Supports so that all students have the structures and opportunities they need to succeed. Our 2023-2024 Bell Schedule continues to include a 30-minute WIN (What I Need) block to provide dedicated time for teachers to provide students interventions based on benchmark data as well as extensions and enrichment opportunities. Our highly-skilled educators design authentic and challenging learning experiences for students to promote their academic growth. BHS educators are striving for excellence by ensuring that our students are provided high quality, grade-level educational experiences that support our BPS Vision of a Graduate. Our Pre-AP course offerings are available to all students in Grades 9 and 10 and BHS boasts an award-winning AP program. BHS is proud of the work we have done to introduce Innovative and Career Pathways to the high school, including Environmental and Life Science and Business and Finance pathways.
